Altitude Rochester’s Interactive Upgrades Boost Capacity and Engagement
Background
Altitude Rochester’s recent renovation project has transformed the trampoline park, with 30% of the venue now featuring new attractions, including two Rugged Interactive trampoline park solutions.
Following the success of Altitude Oswego, the owners have now invested in Rugged products for their second trampoline park, championing interactive play and boosting capacity in their venue.
About Altitude Rochester
Altitude Rochester, New York, is part of the Altitude Trampoline Park Franchise, one of over 75 indoor adventure parks internationally, offering ‘Active Family Fun’. Since its opening in 2015, Altitude Rochester has undergone multiple upgrades, including a foam pit, soft play structure, inflatable assault course, and arcade machines.
In November 2024, they invested in two Rugged Interactive products incorporated into a huge, impressive, gamified area: A Freedom Gaming Strike Arena at the base, and a Ninja Run with TriggerTrac technology on the top.
Mixed Attractions and a Fresh Feel
With a prime location and a strong brand, Altitude Rochester has an impressive mix of attractions for all ages. This includes trampoline courts, an inflatable assault course, slides, interactive challenge arena with interactive tech, arcade games, wipeout, dodgeball and basketball courts.
Following a similar project at their first location, Altitude Oswego, the owners of Altitude Rochester incorporated interactive trampoline park products into the refurbishment to boost capacity and demographic, whilst staying ahead of the competition.
Motivation for Investment
We asked one of the owners, Nicola White, what inspired the investment in Rugged trampoline park attractions:
“Our Rochester location was in need of some upgrades and although we’d made some smaller investments under our ownership, we needed to enhance the facility further with something more impactful, especially since the arrival of a new competitor in the town.
There was an obvious space to regenerate; we had a total of 3 dodgeball courts, and decided to remove 2 courts and increase the variety of our attractions, and make better use of this large area.”
With the trampoline park market being fast-paced and competitive, its important these venues remain top of the competition with exciting new attractions and a fresh feel. Standard trampoline courts won’t cut it anymore, and Altitude Rochester incorporated our gamified technology into the refurbishment to offer challenges with friends, multiple activities in each area, and eye-catching attractions.
Capacity-Boosting Refurbishment
The trampoline park refurbishment at Altitude Rochester aimed to refresh the venue while significantly increasing capacity. By taking out the dodgeball and basketball areas and replacing them with a multi-level interactive play arena, there is now more places for customers to go with more throughput.
That’s where we come in…
Strike Arena x TriggerTrac
The Play Company built Altitude Rochester this high-capacity, multi-floor active play arena, installed with our 30-lightpod Freedom Gaming Strike Arena at the base, and a Ninja Run with our TriggerTrac technology at the top.
This has created a visually striking, unique and competitive zone, in view on entrance to the venue, drawing people in. Nicole comments on the design of this attraction:
“Utilizing the height of the building, we were able to build the equipment up, allowing for better use of the space and improving throughput in this area. As a result, the rest of the park feels more open and less crowded, enabling guests to enjoy an enhanced Altitude experience.”
These gamified play arenas benefit from building UP rather than taking up more floor space, offering extra fun without taking space away from the venue.
Collaboration with Altitude and The Play Company
“We decided on a partnership with Rugged and Play Co as we’d worked with them in our other location in Oswego, Illinois, and following this success, felt we could do something even bigger within our Rochester site.
As a result of the renovation, now around 30% of the park is made up of new equipment, including a Strike Arena and Freedom Gaming zone. This structure itself is huge and as guests walk in, immediately they see there are new attractions installed at the rear of the park. It’s visually appealing and draws people in from the entrance area.”
