A one-of-a-kind Monkey Town indoor playground opened in Kadoelen, Amsterdam, in 2024, paving the way for the brand in offering multiple interactive soft play attractions.
Monkey Town Kadoelen, North Amsterdam, has seven Rugged Interactive products, adding engaging, challenging, and active play to the soft play and café venue.
About Monkey Town Amsterdam Kadoelen
Monkey Town Amsterdam North opened its doors in summer 2024 and offers Freedom Gaming, AeroStrike, Trailblazer, TriggerTrac, SkyPods, FreeStyle Duo and Talking Bags, with a younger demographic of 12 and under.
The Monkey Town brand has over 45 venues across the Netherlands and offers clean, safe and fun play venues with a fixed, affordable price.
THE Play Location in Kadoelen, Amsterdam
This installation project was one of a kind, with Monkey Town opening alongside You Jump, offering two strong indoor play brands under one roof, with a total of 11 interactive playground attractions between them!
The venue was previously owned by one indoor play brand, and on closing, the building was split into two offerings – Monkey Town on one side, with a soft play for children 12 and under, and You Jump, a trampoline park positioned at older children.
It’s great to see two interactive-led active fun venues with different demographic focus thriving in the market!
Engaging Play for All Ages
Standard soft play is old news – children want interactive play with lights, sounds, competition, and tech!
Monkey Town has it all, from a rope-free interactive TrailBlazer climbing wall and FreeStyle Duo speed and reaction walls, to a 30-pod seek the light Freedom Gaming arena and TriggerTrac raceway timer course, there are endless options for exciting, active play.
For smaller guests, there’s SkyPods, our lightpod game that can be adapted to the venue space and user height, and TalkingBags, for light-hearted fun.
Explore the Interactive Attractions
A fast-paced lightpod challenge where players race to hit out the lit pods of their colour against the clock. With single or multi-player games, this attraction is great for both quick play and parties.

A raceway-timer obstacle course 1v1 challenge, where players race to get complete the course in the quickest time!

Dual interactive reaction walls with two games that test speed and reaction, and can be played single player or 1v1. A staple product for any soft play, with bespoke graphics that are attention grabbing and fun.

A rope-free interactive climbing attraction, with two games that challenge coordination, accuracy and speed. With bespoke graphic panels, this product can really showcase a venues brand, and draw kids to an unused area of the park.

Interactive target ball-throw attraction which can be played single player, 1v1 or as a relay. A simple but addictive game!

A versatile interactive lightpod game, were players hit out the lights as quick as they can. Lightpods can be positioned at the perfect height for the user demographic, and is a great retrofit product - easy to install into pre-existing soft play and padding.

Sound bars fitted into soft play punching bags. A non-competitive attraction with sensors that react to contact and make silly noises such as a dog barking, a person laughing, or a car horn.

Monkey Town Motivations for Investment
A common challenge for indoor playgrounds and soft play is keeping the kids aged 8-11 entertained and coming back for parties. With this older demographic looking for more competitive, tech-based, and thrilling play, soft play needs to offer attractions that suit the age group and maintain the customer base.
That’s where interactives come in! Our European Sales Manager, Ray Van der Klis, collaborated with Quinten Luykx, CEO of 24 Indoor Netherlands, which owns Monkey Town, to understand his pain points and how interactives could help. We supported Quinten to incorporate interactive soft play attractions into every corner of the park, to draw in older customers and motivate return visits.
